E-Verify posts Employees: Know Your Rights Quiz
Workers and job applicants can now take the online Employees: Know Your Rights Quiz. The interactive quiz currently has a total of 15 questions (five questions each on Form I-9, E-Verify and Self Check). More questions will be added in the future. The quiz offers a fun and easy way for workers and job applicants to test their knowledge about their rights during the employment eligibility verification process.
The untimed format allows quiz takers to work at their own pace. After answering each question, they will see a pop up of the correct answer and a brief explanation, including links to more information.
You can also access the quiz through the I-9 Central and E-Verify websites, and find many other resources in the Employee Rights Toolkit.
Workers and job applicants can also choose to create a free account in myE-Verify, where they can lock their Social Security number. This prevents anyone else from fraudulently using it in E-Verify and Self Check. Workers and job applicants can also use Self Check to verify their employment eligibility against the same records that E-Verify uses.
E-Verify is a fast, free Internet-based system that confirms employment eligibility by comparing information from an employee’s Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, with data from the Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records.
