Blog Post: Recap of USCIS Twitter Office Hours, February 9

On February 9, we held the sixth USCIS Twitter Office Hours to answer your questions about immigration benefits and other services that our agency provides.

During this pilot event we were able to answer many common questions that we know many of our stakeholders have. Of course, we received more questions than we had time to address in an hour.

I have my family based I-485 pending for more than 17 months after the interview with field officer in Chicago. Overtime my attorney follow up via email they keep saying we are waiting for the candidate employment based I-485 file to be released by other service center.

Seriously, will it take more than 17 months to send and receive the file within the USCIS department?
How can this be resolved, should I just keep waiting for endless months?
